How do places get haunted or cursed? Why are certain buildings and
locations considered portal areas for paranormal phenomena such as
ghosts, paranormal lights and orbs, shadow people, ufos, monsters,
death, crop-circles and poltergeist activity?

Some Famous Cursed or Haunted Places

http://www.paranormalghostsociety.org/curses.htm

Just a few places said to be cursed and have a series of mishaps that
cannot be explained. Something to think about here perhaps some areas
were never meant to be built on or maybe just are meant for the Devil
himself.

1. Dudley Town Conn. -Tales of several suicides, mass hysteria, ghost
sightings, and demonic contacts have been attributed to the small
settlement.

2. Kinzua Dam Region -ghosts, red-eye beasts, giant cats.

3. Point Pleasant West Virginia - Mothman, ufos, men in black, death,
poltergist activity -Chief Cornstalk curse

4. Winchester Mansion - ghosts and apparitions,

5. King Tuts Tomb - a curse that brings death

6. Bell Witch Cave - http://www.prairieghosts.com/b-cave.html

7. Bermuda Triangle - missing boats, planes, people, ufos, portals,
magnetic disturbances, etc.

8. Palmyra Island - http://labyrinth13.com/Palmyra.htm

9. Lafayette Oregon -There is a grave belonging to a witch that was
hung in town. Before she was killed, she is said to have placed a
curse on the town and vowed that it would burn to the ground a total
of three times. Interestingly, the town has suffered two major fires
ever since. It is believed that if you visit the grave during the
nighttime, you can catch sight of the ghost standing in one spot or
roaming about the cemetery. A handful of people have reported that a
witch chased them, and some will show scars on their back as proof
that it really did happen.

10. Hudson Valley-Headless Horseman, ufos, ghosts, haunted stone
chambers with orbs, strange lights, hooded figures.

11. BACHELOR'S GROVE CEMETERY - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bachelor%27s_Grove_Cemetery

12. ALCATRAZ - some visitors to the island claim to have heard men
screaming, whistling, orbs, and doors clanging in the prison. As is
likely with many prisons, deaths occurred in Alcatraz, and some
believe that those who died in the prison haunt the island. Many
guards and police officers reported to have seen or heard ghostly
apparitions while guarding the building. There is also a report of
banjo music in the shower.

13. The Whaley House - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whaley_House#Ghostly_legends

14. The Myrtles Plantation -ghosts, poltergist activity

15. The Lemp Mansion - doors opening, shutting, locking, and unlocking
on their own; candles lighting on their own; and a glass flying off a
bar and crashing to the floor. Visitors to the mansion have reported
feeling as if they are being watched, or sensing an atmosphere of
sadness, and some claim to have seen apparitions of members of the
Lemp family. One report says that, during the mansion's restoration, a
painter working on a mural felt that he was being watched and
immediately fled the mansion, without washing his brushes or taking
out his equipment, and never returned.

16. Cleburne- Wright Place - People have seen the figure of a young
woman near a window and have claimed to smell oranges when it is not
being used as a haunted house. Legend says that she was pushed out of
a window and killed by an angry boyfriend.

17. The Skinwalker Ranch - N.Eastern Utah - animal mutilations, ufos,
poltergeists, strange bullet proof animals and unknown creatures, blue
orbs that kill dogs, etc.

18. Wilson Hall- Athens Ohio - residents of the room claimed to hear
footsteps and strange sounds and witnessed objects moving about the
room on their own.

19. Coliseum, Rome, Italy.

At the height of Rome’s power the Coliseum represented everything that
was Imperial to the citizens of Rome. Gladiators would fight to the
death here for the amusement of Caesar and the mobs; thousands of
prisoners of war and victims of religious persecution met their end in
the jaws of lions and tigers in the sandy arena of the Coliseum; and
even those animals were decimated, for in its time the Coliseum
consumed tens of thousands of animals, some reportedly driven into
extinction by the Roman lust for blood and gore. Tour guides and
visitors alike have reported cold spots, being touched or pushed,
hearing indiscernible words whispered into their ears; security guards
with the unenviable task of securing the ancient edifice have reported
hearing the sounds of swords clashing, of weeping in the more remote
areas, and, oddly enough most disconcerting, the sound of ghostly
animal noises such as the roars of lions and elephants. Ghostly
citizens have been seen among the seats of the Coliseum, and the sight
of a Roman soldier standing guard, silhouetted against the night sky,
is a common one. http://www.hauntedworldtours.com/

20. Aokigahara (青木ヶ原), also known as the Sea of Trees (樹海, Jukai), is
a forest that lies at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The caverns
found in this forest are rocky and ice-covered annually. It has been
claimed by local residents and visitors that the woods are host to a
great amount of paranormal phenomena. It is an old ancient forest
reportedly haunted by many urban historical legends of strange beasts,
monsters, ghosts, and goblins, which add to its serious and sinister
reputation.http://www.hauntedamericatours.com/haunted/Aokigahara.php

21. The Devils Trampling Grounds- NC -the disappearance of objects
left within the grounds overnight, and strange events occurring to
those brave enough to spend the night within its boundaries.

22. Anderson Prison -Eerie noises include gunshots, marching, voices
talking and moaning. Specters of both armies have been sighted. There
is an unearthly putrid stench.

23. Glamis Castle - ghosts, appearances of the Devil

24. Chillingham Castle -ghosts, screams for help and doors slamming
mysteriously

25. Helltown-Ohio - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helltown,_Ohio

A nation or a place can be blessed or it can be cursed from
by moral corruption of it's people and leaders. In the history of
Israel you see times of great blessing and it's opposite depending
on how faithful they were in serving God and following his
commandments. A careful overview of Old Testament history will show
this clearly. Please read what Moses was instructed by God to write
and declare to the people of Israel.

People and places can be blessed or cursed.

This may explain why some towns, houses or places can be haunted.
When a place or sometimes an object is used for Satanic or pagan
worship, occult rituals, scrying spirits, murder, suicide, etc. it can
be cursed and become a place or object that attracts fallen spirits or
demons. The following passage in Isaiah describes Babylon, a place
that becomes cursed.

Isa.13

[21] But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses
shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and
satyrs shall dance there.[22] And the wild beasts of the islands shall
cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces:
and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

Deuteronomy 28 - Blessings and Curses as a cause and effect of
following God's ways or not.

[1] And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto
the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his
commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God
will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
[2] And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if
thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
[3] Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in
the field.
[4] Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy
ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and
the flocks of thy sheep.
[5] Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
[6] Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou
be when thou goest out
[7] The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to
be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way,
and flee before thee seven ways.
[8] The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses,
and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee
in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
[9] The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he
hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD
thy God, and walk in his ways.
[10] And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by
the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
[11] And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of
thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy
ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give
thee.
[12] The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to
give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work
of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt
not
borrow.
[13] And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and
thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou
hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command
thee this day, to observe and to do them:
[14] And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I
command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after
other
gods to serve them.

Moses here warns the people about God's judgments when individuals
and nations abandon God and seek not to obey and follow His
commandments.

[15] But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the
voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and
his
statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall
come upon thee, and overtake thee:

[16] Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in
the field.
[17] Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
[18] Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy
land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
[19] Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou
be when thou goest out.

What then is the solution if we are under a curse? When we break God's
laws the Bible says we are under a curse. We cannot be justified
before God, however if we receive the good news that Christ was cursed
in our place then we have hope that the curse can be broken.

Gal.3

[10] For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse:
for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all
things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
[11] But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it
is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
[12] And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall
live in them.
[13] Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a
curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a
tree:
God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have
given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
[22] But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise
by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
[23] But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto
the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
[24] Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ,
that we might be justified by faith.

" If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their
land." - 2Chronicles 7:14

An example in the Book of Acts Chapter.19

[11] And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
[12] So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or
aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went
out of them.
[13] Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to
call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus,
saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
[14] And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the
priests, which did so.
[15] And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I
know; but who are ye?
[16] And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and
overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of
that house naked and wounded.
[17] And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at
Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was
magnified.
[18] And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their
deeds.
[19] Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books
together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price
of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
[20] So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
